CatholicCare Social Services is seeking Carer Recruitment & Placements Coordinators to join our Permanency Support team in this rewarding role. These positions will be based in our Cardiff Office and be offered on a part-time and full-time maximum term contracts (6 months and 18 months).

The Permanency Support Program (PSP) aims to give every child and young person the chance to have a loving, permanent home for life, whether that be with his or her parents, extended family or kin, or through open adoption or guardianship.

As Carer Recruitment & Placements Coordinator you will undertake recruitment, assessment and training of foster and relative carer applications to a high standard. This is to ensure a permanent, loving and caring home life is available to children and young people in the CatholicCare Permanency Support Program PSP (formerly OOHC).

Essential Criteria:
  • An appropriate qualification in Social Welfare, Social Work or Psychology, preferably at a degree level or working towards and/or equivalent experience in the delivery of OOHC or PSP
  • Direct experience in collaboration and a commitment to a team work approach
  • Sound understanding of current child protection legislation, child development and the impact of trauma on the developing brain
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively and concurrently meet the needs of the program
  • Highly developed interpersonal, reflective practice and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience maintaining high level record keeping and assessment writing practices
  • Ability to deliver training and other presentations to groups to a high standard
  • Willingness to work outside of business hours
  • Current drivers licence and use of own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
Desirable Criteria:
  • Registered Assessor in the use of ACWA Step by Step 2016 and/or demonstrated experience in conducting carer assessments
  • Qualified and experienced trainer mandatory carer training package ACWA Shared Lives
  • Professional experience in Casework, Child Protection and PSP (formerly OOHC)
  • Experience and skills working directly with carers

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a national police check, hold a current employee working with children check, complete a health assessment declaration, hold a current NSW driver’s license, and have the ability to work within Australia.
