About Us

We are looking for Psychologists, either Registered or Clinical and/or Accredited Mental Health Social Workers to join our teams either in our new office located in the heart of the Beaumont Street’s café district (The Rosewood Centre, 46 James Street, Hamilton) or with our CatholicCare Cardiff team.

These locations are close to beaches and the Newcastle city centre. They are centrally located for accessibility (public transport) and lifestyle.

The Role

You will provide clinical services in line with your areas of interest and skill set, primarily counselling and therapy, and ideally some clinical assessments (experience in Autism and/or Cognitive assessments is desirable). It is similar clinical work to what you might encounter in a private practice setting, but with a more sustainable caseload. You will also have the opportunity to give back to your community with some fully subsidised counselling programs.

We are seeking Registered or Clinical Psychologists or Accredited Mental Health Social Workers. Work patterns are tailored to the right candidates - Full or Part-time/Flexible hours and some work from home options available.

Selection Criteria

Please individually address each of the selection criterion below.

Essential Criteria:
  • AHPRA Registered or Clinical Psychologist or qualified in accredited Mental Health;
  • experience in counselling clients with complex clinical needs across the lifespan;
  • highly developed verbal and written communication skills;
  • highly developed interpersonal skills, including: the ability to build rapport with clients; the ability to create a positive client/customer experience;
  • ability and experience working in a fast paced clinical environment;
  • a willingness to work across various sites, depending on need;
  • current Working With Children Check;
  • current driver’s licence.
Desirable Criteria:
  • experience in psychometric and other clinical assessments (such as autism assessments, cognitive, achievement and developmental assessments).
